Interaction Cell

The Corporate and Media Interaction Cell of the Vinod
Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur is responsible
for organizing several events that have a massive industry
outreach and a significant impact such as The HR Conclave
and Leadership Summit. Furthermore, the committee also
organizes several interactions between industry stalwarts
and student fraternity of VGSoM in the form of guest
lectures under two distinct banners – Vaarta and Pratyaksh
throughout the year. It is also responsible for the digital
presence of VGSoM over a myriad of online platforms such
as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and
InsideIIM. It also keeps track of the institute’s national
rankings and accomplishments and ensures its publication
in several national media houses. These robust initiatives
play a pivotal role in increasing the brand awareness of
VGSoM and help in grooming the students of the institute
to become the best managers, entrepreneurs and industry
leaders in a dynamic paradigm.

Summits and Conclaves

The HR Conclave is the flagship event of CMI. The conclave sees
active participation in the domain of Human Resource Management
from leaders belonging to a broad spectrum of industries. The day-
long event sees top business strategists come together and discuss
some of the most pressing industrial concerns of our time. This
helps the student fraternity to get a holistic view of business in an
academic setting. HR Conclave’19 saw participation from eminent
personalities from the industry such as:
• Ms. Sonali Misra, Head of HR, Bain & Company
• Mr. Satyajit Mohanty, Chief HR Officer, Crompton Greaves
Consumer Electricals Ltd.
• Ms. Yamini Krishnan, Director of HR, IQVIA

• Ms. Sonia Sahgal, Director of University Recruiting,
Microsoft India
• Mr. Hetal Sonpal, TEDx speaker and Mentor of Change at Atal

• Mr. Arindam Dutta, Executive Partner, Gartner
The Leadership Summit provides an opportunity for the students
to acclimatize themselves to the corporate culture they would face
after their MBA. Leadership Summit’19 panel included prominent
personalities like:
