Saamanjasya

Saamanjasya, the CSR club of Vinod Gupta School of
Management, constantly strives to bring harmony in society.
The goal of the team is to bring the corporates, NGOs, and
academicians together to realize this vision. Intending to
give back to the society, the club tries to spread awareness
regarding the social issues prevalent today.
Saamanjasya has always been associated with bringing rays
of happiness in the lives of the under privileged children.
Every year a T-shirt sales drive is conducted and the funds
raised are used on various occasions aimed at bringing
a deserving childhood for these children. This year the club, in association with Indigo Paints, took the initiative
to paint the Hijli Primary School inside the IIT Kharagpur
campus. Saamanjasya celebrates each Diwali with these
kids, spreading smiles on their faces. It also organizes
Rangmanch, a drawing competition to bring out the latent
talent in these children and show it to the world. Nukkad
Natak and Marathon organized by Saamanjasya are focused
on addressing rigid social issues that weaken our society.
An article writing contest and a live case-study competition
are conducted with the help of NGOs and corporates, where
participants from the best B-Schools in India take up the
challenge to solve the most critical social and environmental
issues. The best business brains come together to give
this world sustainable solutions for very relevant problems,
thereby establishing harmony in the society.

Spring Fest

Spring Fest is the annual flagship cultural festival of IIT
Kharagpur. Since its inception in 1960, the event has left
an unforgettable impression and has set a benchmark for
cultural celebration. Crowned as one of Asia’s largest cultural
festival. The fest provides ground for budding artists in the
field of dramatics, music, photography, fine arts, quizzing
and filmography to come together and celebrate the spirit of
youth and prove their mettle against each other in different
competitions. The event is a 5 days extravaganza that hosts
some of the best talents in the country and abroad. From
choral band performances to the battle of wits and intellect
in Debates, Spring Fest covers every shade of the literary
spectrum. Every year the event gathers a footfall of more
than 70K for 130+ events and the number seems to be
growing with every passing year.
Also, Spring Fest is not just about celebration but also
addressing the call of being a socially responsible citizen.
Every year there is an underlying social theme and events
are customized according to it. Social events like blood and
organ donation are things that put Spring Fest in a league of
its own. Today’s youth is bold, innovative, out of the ordinary
and Spring Fest is the reflection of the very same spirit.
